BEAUTIFUL COTTAGE BY THE SEA

The family-friendly holiday house is located in a private holiday home complex with 21 houses on a small hill (about 50 m above sea level) at a sea edge facing the sea (about 100 m away). Thus, it has a beautiful view over the sea. The private complex and the beach below are used mainly by the owners.

The beach can be reached via two asphalted paths approx. 400 and 600 m in about 5-10 Min. by feet.

The beach is left natural and consists of fine sand with small pebbles. There are no bars or cafés; therefore it is very calm here. The beach is used by inhabitants, so you are alone in most cases. The beach and sea are protected from the wind, so the water is usually calm.

Beaches with bars, cafés, restaurants, shopping opportunities and water sports can be reached by car in the nearby small towns, e.g. Nea Potidea (3 km), Nea Moudania (8 km), Nea Fokea (8 km), Afitos (13 km) and many other beaches on both sides of the Kassandra peninsula.

The complex is about 60 km from Thessaloniki Airport and can be reached by car in 45 minutes via the freeway.

A car is required in any case.

*** Equipment ***

The holiday house has 2 living levels. On the ground floor there are the air-conditioned living room with fireplace and an open kitchen, a bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom with shower. From the living room you can access the terrace with a lawn and a view on the sea.

On the upper floor there are two bedrooms, each with a double bed and air conditioning, and another bathroom with shower. From the front bedroom you can reach the large balcony with a beautiful view over the sea.

The kitchen has a stove with ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge, coffee maker, toaster and kettle. To reduce fire danger the toaster does not be used when an adult is not in the kitchen.

Bed linen and towels are provided. A washing machine is available for your own use. A hair dryer is available in each bathroom.

Internet is available free of charge (WiFi).

For reasons of convenience we provide some basics in the kitchen like spices, sugar, salt and vinegar at the beginning of rental. Moreover, we also provide detergents and toilet paper. They have to be rebought in case of running short by the tenants.

*** Outside ***

Outside there is the terrace with lawn and a view of the sea through an approx. 50 m wide gap between the houses in the front row. The front row of houses is about 3 m lower, so there is a clear view of the sea from the balcony of the house.
A stone grill is available at the back of the house.
Tumble dryers for hanging up the laundry are also available.

*** Specific hints ***

The tap water has a high degree of hardness and is expressly not permitted as drinking water. It is obtained from springs in the nearby mountains and can easily be used for showering, washing, etc. However, it must not be drunk, nor used for cooking or coffee, as the devices quickly calcify. It is therefore unavoidable that dishes and glasses from the dishwasher have water stains that can easily be removed with a dry cloth.

Hot water is provided using a solar system that stores around 250 litres of hot water. The water only needs to be electrically reheated during bad weather conditions for several days (the switch is in the kitchen).

The existing air conditioning units can be used for cooling and heating (for cooler days in spring and late autumn).

*** Surrounding Places ***

The nearest village with shopping facilities for daily needs is Nea Potidea (approx. 3 km).
There are also beaches with bars, cafés and restaurants. At the small port of Nea Potidea you can buy fresh fish from the returning fishing boats or in the local shops.

The village of Nea Fokea is located south of the holiday house (about 8 km) in a bay with a small harbour, restaurants and cafés. The county town of Nea Moudania (about 8 km north) offers all the amenities of a small lively town with shops, banks, restaurants and bars.

The beautiful village of Afitos is located south (about 15 km) and is one of the most beautiful villages of Halkidiki. The centre of Afitos is situated on a hill above the sea, with beautiful houses built during the 19th century. In the narrow streets there are many small shops and restaurants (touristic).

Our local contacts speak English and Greek and are available for questions about the house. It is a private rental, so we do not offer any additional services.

After moving out, the house is cleaned by cleaners and the laundry washed. The tenants are obliged to leave the house in a tidy condition.

    “Die Unterkunft ist ausgezeichnet und alles funktioniert. Auch sehr sauber. Es ist etwa 400 m vom Strand entfernt. Die Treppen sind sehr steil, aber die Mühe lohnt sich, denn der Strand ist wunderschön und fast immer leer, sodass Sie Ihre eigene Ruhe haben. Außerdem ist der Strand sandig und für kleine Kinder geeignet. Alles in allem ein sehr schönes Erlebnis.”

    “Eine schöne Gestaltete Anlage mit allen was man braucht, wenn man Ruhe haben will.
    Das Häuschen ist Schick und Modern. Positiv: Der Hausstil und die Ausstattung empfanden wir als gehoben. Mehr als ausreichend Platz, bis zu 6 Personen.
    Die Beschreibung trifft zu.
    Kann ich ohne Bedenken weiterempfehlen. Negativ: Man ist ohne eine Art von Mobilität aufgeschmissen, da es nichts in der näheren Umgebung gibt. Des Weiteren nerven die Mücken, auch hier waren wir dadurch in unserer Entfaltung eingeschränkt. Restaurant: Ilias - Restaurant in Paralia Dionisio, direkt am Strand.
    Authentisch zu fairen Preisen. Ausflüge: Possidi - Die Landzunge ist definitiv ein kleiner Geheimtipp.
    Entweder zu Fuß oder mit einem Geländefähigen Auto zu erreichen.
    Dort den Sunset genießen. Verpflegung unbedingt mitnehmen, vor Ort am Meer gibt es nichts.”
