Visitors coming to Tuscany should not miss a visit to the lovely city of Lucca, especially if they are keen of art cities. The old and well preserved city wall together with the Roman Amphitheatre make of Lucca a unique place. Walking on the little, tiny streets of the centre will make you feel like you were going back in time. Those who love music will be happy to know that Lucca is the hometown of the composer Giacomo Puccini who was born here in 1858. His birth house hosts nowadays a museum open to the public. For the young people, it is worth to mention the Summer Festival during the month of July and the popular Comics exhibition in November. The surroundings of Lucca also offer many day trip possibilities: Pisa, Florence are an easy reach by public transportation, Viareggio and the coast are within 30 Km from LuccaThe apartment “Alle Mura” is located within the city centre of Lucca in a very convenient position also reachable by car. In short distance from the apartment, visitors will find the beautiful walls with their tree-lined boulevards. Public parking upon payment in front of the apartment. The old town of Lucca has a special flair, which attracts every year thousands and thousands of tourists. Lucca could protect over all the years its arts treasures thank to its town wall; to mention are for example: the amphitheatre, the dome of San Martino and the wonderful church of San Michele or “palazzo Pfanner” which was chosen for film sets, because of its beauty, by many film directors, i.e. “portrait of a lady” by Jane Campion with Nicole Kidman. Lucca is also known to be the city of birth of the well-known opera writer Giacomo Puccini, which is appreciated in the whole world! There are many cultural events (concerts, exhibitions), all year over, which are dedicated to the Maestro. Torre del Lago is only 25 km from the historical centre of Lucca – the composer lived there many years – an open-air theatre was built, which is the yearly host of the Puccini opera festival. The apartment lies on the 2nd floor: entrance in the living area which comprises a kitchenette with stove (2 electrical burners), small electrical oven, dish-washer, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster, American coffee machine, dining table with chairs, sofa with armchairs and TV-Sat. 1 toilette with basin, wc and small utility room. A corridor leads to the night area which comprises: 1 double bedroom with closet, 1 bathroom with shower, wc and bidet. 1 bedroom with bunk bed (3 beds, Ikea style). From this bedroom access to a small, lovely balcony equipped with 1 table and chairs for dining outside. The apartment is very bright: the walls are in cream-colour, the ceilings have white beams and the floors are parquet-tiled. The furnishings are modern and functional.

“Very nicely furbished flat in the old town centre of Lucca, with kitchen incl. dish washer, bath with shower and separate loo, sleeping room with queen sized bed and a room with loft bed for 3. No washing machine in the flat, but self-washing centre just around the corner. Flat is very clean! Dishes are available, but food must of course be brought.”

“L'appartement est bien équipé et agréable à vivre. L'accès à l'appartement est assez sportif car l'escalier est assez raide, mais les enfants ont trouvé cela très amusant.”
