The landscape of Northwest Zealand is charming and varied and there are many things for the family to do. Go to a museum and look at art, play golf or tennis and go fishing, because almost everywhere you can do this from the coast. Beautiful experiences are also guaranteed if you go cycling or just walking. You also live close to one of the most child-friendly bathing beaches in Denmark, there are beautiful dunes here. On the glacial headland of Odsherred you will feel like you are in a geopark. On it you will find along the Tumulus Road, with the barrows and burial mounds, witnesses from the Stone and Bronze Ages, the Hempel Glass Museum and in the Odsherred Museum the copy of the sun chariot found in the Trundholm Mose bog. You will also see the erratic boulder Lommesten and the castle Næsholm Borg, which stands on a small island in the lake Nygård Sø between Højby and Nykøbing Sj.
On Odsherred there is also a nature school that lets you catch seafood, organizes butterfly safaris and expeditions into the forest, and invites you to troll and fox excursions. Your children will also be thrilled by a visit to the Odsherred Fire Museum. Nearby, visit Sommerland Sjælland, galleries that are also typical of Odsherreds and Dragsholm Castle from the 13th century and the zoo in Asnæs. Havnebyen is the only real fishing harbor with cutters and a small smokehouse. Even recreational fishermen always get something on the hook here. In Nykøbing Sjælland you can do good shopping and enjoy the coffee house life.
